While we offer standard designs as represented in the Showrooms, it is our great pleasure to custom design and build white cedar log furniture to your specifications, needs and desires.White cedar, a tree which is native to Minnesota, is reasonably light weight, low in shrinkage, and durable. It is pleasantly aromatic, and has a fine uniform texture. When white cedar is used for inside furniture, we at Ottertail Cedar Log Furniture prefer not to use wood stains. The polymere resins (equal to 50 coats of lacquer) and special lacquers bring out the beautiful natural colors that are hidden in the white cedar. When used outside, Ottertail Cedar Log Furniture naturally resists weather, insects and has a life expectancy of 20 to 25 years. To extend the life of your outdoor furniture, treat with a quality product that you would use on a log home. Ottertail Cedar Log Furniture will probably last your lifetime; if cared for properly, our furniture may also last your grandchildren a lifetime.
Other woods used in some of the log furniture are pine, oak, ash and basswood, which are all native to Minnesota.
